My home-built LED light is basically a flashlight-like tube, and it's
currently mounted with two stainless hose clamps. Use a 1" clamp for the bar
and whatever size needed to fit the light. Open one clamp and loop through
the second, so they make a right angle. One gets clamped around the light,
and the other around the handlebars. Not the most elegant system, but
certainly durable.
