Huh. I took a deeper dive and it looks like folks have been having issues with the platform for a couple of weeks.
Actually, it looks like they've been having issues with the platform since Day 1, but alas. I find WordPress easy to drive, but not necessarily easy to build. I'm not familiar with either of the other two platforms you mentioned. There's Cargo <https://2.cargocollective.com/> as well if you are OK with spending TheGrid-ish monies per annum, though many of their templates are aimed at the design sensibilities of folks half my age.
