Oh Tom, I thought no one would ever ask! Actually, caveat: This is all in fun.
I don’t want to be telling Grant/Rivendell what to do. Whatever they do will be
good, clean, fun and I am so excited to finally know what it will be. I love my
bike, I love their bikes, and I am a novice who knows NOTHING. But if I was
going to make a Mixte Wish List, here are my respectful and non-bossy thoughts:

1. Fancy Rivendell lugs. I love them - like the ones they put on customs. They
are traditional Rivendell and fitting for an anniversary model. The lugs are
the nod to Rivendell’s beginnings and the evolved geometry is where Rivendell
is now - a summary of 25 years. The the decal can read “One Bike To Rule Them
All.” Or “My Precious” if the former is too lengthy. Or some clever Tolkien
reference...

2. A lower top tube. The TT is not actually that low on the Betz, and I’d
prefer it lower for my golden years. If it was swoopy like the Clementine,
that’s good, too.

3. Take wider tires. Like the Clementine.

4. I want the brake cables strung on the underside of the tubes. I have a nasty
mark where the cable has been mashed into my paint job by the arm of my vehicle
bike rack. It’s an eyesore I see every darn day.

5. The thing I really, really, really want: Sparkly red paint with cream
accents and the Rivendell head badge. You know the kind of red that stops you
in your tracks, turns heads, convinces you you’re 16 and makes people let out a
long, low whistle? THAT red.

I reserve the right to add on later! Does anyone else have these on their wish
lists?

So fun and thanks for asking, Tom! If your wife won’t give you your Valentine’s
bike, maybe you should get an anniversary bike instead. Ha!
