I have visitors from Portland in town. They're trying to avoid the police shootings and riots. Told them about the BEST bike ride I know of in Santa Monica Mountains. We were able to meet up w/ local guide and route finder Aaron who rode on his Romulus w/ Green Jacks. I was on my All-Rounder w/ 42 knobbies and the PDX folks were mountain-biking it. My Monkey isn't set up quite right, so didn't want to take it on a four + hour ride quite yet. Plus this one is 100% fire road, so no real need for the extra capability of the 29er. This is the third time I've done this loop and the most beautiful. We saw four other cyclists, and maybe 12 people for the whole dirt loop. Not bad considering the 10 million people within 20 miles of us.
