Hi, all, First, thanks for all the interest in round one of my bags for sale. I'm hoping all buyers have their bags now -- if not, please email me on [email protected]
Second, more bags, parts and bikes to come -- I'm being forcefully reminded that domestic downsizing actually means DOWN sizing! And third, I thought that the attached pics might be of interest to some in the group. I was asked to do one last bike build for my daughter's former school's charity auction, and I wanted to cobble it together without buying anything new. This is built from what was originally a Sears "Ted Williams" road bike frame/fork, made by Puch (from Austria) from, I believe, all Reynolds 531. It's a very nice frame. I had it repainted, and slapped on some Resurrectio decals from Riv. Also used some Bosco handlebars from Riv. The rest of the build is catch as catch can -- Phil Wood single speed wheels, Dia-Compe calipers, Tektro levers, an old track crank, Riv Sneaker pedals, Brooks leather grips and Cambium saddle, gold Izumi chaim and gold cable housings, terra cotta Soma tires, and -- for a pop of color -- red Paul Moon Unit cable hangers. And for a bit of whimsy, a flask mounted on the saddle. It's quite fun to ride, but probably won't fetch much at the auction.
