That sounds great! Living in Reno, the Tioga Road from Lee Vining is my preferred route. It looks like that may be a bit longer before it's open. They usually do a bikes-only weekend on that road as well, your message reminded me to keep my eyes open for that announcement. I have also gone before they open all the way, it was fun to ride up to a wall of snow by Tioga Lake.
