I tried these gloves that Garth suggested 
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001UE8D7M/ref=twister_B079P4Q7RV and they work 
great.  The palm side is slightly textured, similar to suede.  No slipping 
and I didn't feel additional heat build up. And, they covered up most of my 
hand.  They are also easier to get off than cycling gloves I used to own.
