I also am pretty sure its a toyo from those first couple of years (no midfork eyelets). i agree that rust could be bad, but thats more a question of how much you hate rust. i don't like rust, so i'd probably buy a kiddie pool and soak it in white vinegar for a couple days. 1k seems like a reasonable price if you could use even half the components.
