OK - here are the pics. Lot's of similarities to the smaller
Hunqapillars I'd say. This bike cleaned up amazingly well for a 25
year-old. Even the original tires are ready to roll. I don't think the
person I bought it from rode it much at all. Funny, but she had
purchased a hybrid bike to ride when all she needed to do was swap out
the tires and raise the bars. Until I can find a taller frame, I'll
add albatross bars on a tall stem - maybe fenders too. Fortunately I
have a longer 26.8 seatpost as the original is quite short. I am very
impressed with the quality of the Gen 1 XT components, Everything is
built to last. Of course I re-greased the headset and BB, and I only
had to adjust one of the XCII pedals. I've been using a big tub of
Campy grease for more than thirty years now, and it still smells and
feels wonderful. Man, I really love cups and cones! BTW - a 32mm
headset wrench works just fine on the funky 600 headset - just have to
be careful. Enjoy the pics.
