I've found that there's also variation in the honey color of the saddle itself. Just recently I tried orange cloth tape underneath with 6 coats of Bullseye amber and the final tone was very close to a darker honey seat that I have. I've used both amber Bullseye and Velo flakes on yellow cloth tape and synthetic cork tape and they are a good match for lighter seats. I agree on the 5-6 coats. Also, amber over kelly green is a good match for the british green brooks.
Also, for twining, waxed irish linen in 3-ply or 5-ply comes in many colors and takes the shellack well. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
