Here's how the stock QB works. To change up or down, do this: Dismount, and stand to the left side. With right hand, loosen the quick release enough to allow the axle to slide forward or backward. Do not remove wheel. To change to a low gear, place your right foot behind the rear wheel and push the bike back. This slackens the chain. With left hand, reach down and place chain on small chain wheel. Place right foot in front of rear wheel and push the bike forward. Take a moment to carefully center the rear wheel between the chain stays, then re-tighten quick release. Ride away. Do the opposite to change back. With a little practice, a gear change will take less than a minute.
If you have a dual freewheel on the drive side, as many of us do, use the same procedure above to place the chain in the combo that you want. Some of us also have a single larger free on the flip side. To get there, use the above procedure, but you must remove the wheel and flip it around. ________________________________ From: happyriding <[email protected]> To: RBW Owners Bunch <[email protected]> Sent: Sat, April 3, 2010 7:51:16 AM Subject: [RBW] Re: Its a 64! With the stock setup you would flip the wheel to get an easier/harder to pedal cog? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
