A lot of good points above. It is nearly impossible to find a 66 Quickbeam. This particular one was very well cared for and seems to have seen relatively few miles. Like many here, I have several Rivs and other bikes, and the Quickbeam is definitely my favorite. After years of reading the readers and perusing the website, the Quickbeam was my first Rivendell, bought new in 2010, so there's a lot of sentimental value too. If I can get a new OEM BB installed with fresh paint and new QB decals for around $1000 total, I might just go for it. I don't see anything in the current market that would replace it, and my someday custom Bantam won't be a SS.
