Great question, George! 1.Wet paint would need to be shipped out adding another ~$120 to the price 2. Wet paint is typically $400 plus for one color (for anyone that does it often and well) 3. Powder is supposedly more durable/more chip-resistant than wet paint. 4. We have an excellent local powder coat specialist that is accustomed to bike frames that will do a single color frameset for $150, two color for $225 including a chemical strip AND sandblast prep. 5. Powder is a bit more environmentally friendly and less risk for the applicator.
