Sorry I dropped out for a while ... had to go to Rancho Bernardo today to finalize daughters wedding site for next year.
Either route would be a fun ride. I can do it any weekend in May. Early June could work too but by July the lower elevations would be hotter than you know what. Most of the rest of the ride is above 4000 ft so it will be nice. How about June 5th or 6th? The pavement route is very quiet except Angeles Crest section. That section is maybe 15% of route.
