Jim, The original Raleigh-branded Weinmann calipers had (just) enough reach -- at the very bottom of the slot in the brake arm, the brake shoes just made it to the 700C rim's braking surface. It's roughly a 65-mm distance from the brake fixing screw to where the shoes connect to the arm.
