You could just take the plunge and try them, either keeping them if they suit you or re selling them if you don't like them. I have a pair on a Saluki and like them (size 8 1/2 shoe) in Sambas, Keen Torinos, or El Cheapo $25 Nike Sandals.

Basically, I want to be able to ride in any and all shoes/sneakers especially Chuck Taylor type shoes (actually Keen Coronados) and Birkenstocks. Currently I am using the MKS Touring with cages, which worked great with Sambas over the years but now they're hurting my feet. My question is: are the Grip Kings too long for say a size 7-8 shoe? I have wide feet but not very big feet. I am concerned that the GKs might be so long they'll feel like planks under my feet. how do the GR9s compare? Any comments appreciated.
