| Hello. I recently built up my Gus with the 11-36 version of the 7 speed cassette paired with the Silver wide/low crankset. The jury is still out but so far so good. The steps of course are bigger than the 9 speed cluster on my Clem. But, I’ve enjoyed the shifting performance and simplicity while never wanting for a gear - yet. The proof of concept will come this week (I hope) when I finally get to put this bike to the test at my favorite trail - DTE in Chelsie, Michigan. This is a 22 mile rollercoaster with quite a bit of climbing & fast, accurate shifting is mandatory. Any other forum than this one and I would no doubt get ridiculed for this; last year I did this trail regularly on a full suspension Carbon bike with 1x12 AXS shifting. I fully expect to be slower but much more comfortable. I cannot imagine the 7 speed not being very good for your application.
