I think they would not work. At least not easily and optimally. My 45mm Smokes were smaller than 45mm, and I don't think they'd fit under ANY fender. Right now, I'm running (rocking/rubbing)... ...I have mounted on my Quickbeam 42mm IRC Mythos "slicks" with the knobs cut off, under 52mm Zeppelins. They're really close. Popping off a speed bump makes the front go "zzzp!" and anytime the rear fender gets knocked, there's some fussing involved to get the clearance under control.
I have never owned Big Apples, so your experience may differ happily.
