Thanks, Ryan! I've been battling the VO Model 6 saddle for a year and a half now. I've tried it out on other bikes, and now the Quickbeam. The saddle is modeled after the Brooks Swallow, so a more aggressive bar-to-saddle drop ought to help. Initially, I had it set up on a bike where the bars were level to the saddle. This "upright" position didn't work out that great, as I could never get my sit bone placement quite right. Then, the leather began to sag a bit and one end of the cantle created a noticeable bump on the saddle top. I say noticeable b/ c I was riding in to work (42 miles one-way) and by the time I got in I had a nice memento of the trip on my behind that stayed with me for a while. I guess that's the hammock aspect that you saw in the pic. I decided to re-tension the bolt and it did remove some of the sag. I'm still keeping a wary eye out for that bump to reappear.
In any event, in this use, where I'm a little more crouched, I initially found that the saddle felt like a paddle, with a small flat roundish surface underneath your sit bones, and defined edges that I could feel on the back of my thighs. That annoyed me, but I thought that this might be a break-in process. I've only ridden it this way for a week, but I can see how the edges beneath my thighs may break down some and create a smoother, sloped surface--much like the nice shape that the Swallow has from the get-go. If it doesn't work out, I'll probably offer it up on the list with all caveats included and get myself a Swift. Sorry for the long answer. But I'm drinking coffee and waiting for the laundry to finish :) Best, Lee On Jun 12, 10:31 am, Ryan <[email protected]> wrote: > Harvest Gold is a nice colour.
