Yes, silence is golden in more ways than one. The Novatech cartridge bearing freehub on my old stock wheelset on my Clem has been my first experience with a silent freehub. Prior to that, I have had the sound of freewheels spinning in my ears for nearly forty years. So, needless to say, coasting in silence is truly a wonderful experience for me.
If the pawls become audible, then I use some of the Dumonde Tech Pro X Freehub Grease to silence them. Kim Hetzel flying in silence.
