This is one rich country-to-poor country help project that actually makes sense.* The original Buffalo bicycle was a coaster braked singe speed with front drum, and this one has a SRAM-designed kickback 2-speed system involving 2 chains, 2 rings, and a 2-cog freewheel. I’m curious why this setup is more reliable — it’s not more simple, with double everything in the drivetrain — compared to a kickback coaster brake hub, esp if you could beef up the internals. Or a retrodirect …? Seriously, would a beefed-up coaster braked kickback not be just as reliable? * The Scandinavians with double-barreled charity programs were big in Kenya when I was a high school student there in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, and I went to school with many Danes and Norwegians and Swedes. I fondly remember Inger Vedel and her sister Karen (little brother Lars? Didn’t pay as much attention to him.) https://www.ibtimes.com/kenyas-turkana-learns-failed-fish-project-194573 -- Patrick Moore Alburquerque, Nuevo Mexico, Etats Unis d'Amerique, Orbis Terrarum ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Executive resumes, LinkedIn profiles, bios, letters, and other writing services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *When thou didst not, savage, k**now thine own meaning,* *But wouldst gabble like a** thing most brutish,* *I endowed thy purposes w**ith words that made them known.* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
