ha! That's pretty cool. Maybe if my Virella shirt wears out (what, in 20 years or so...) I can cut it into strips and use that. What I like is the semi-spiral pattern you get from certain types of fishing/fly rod wrapping threads. There is a secondary color that appears at a regular interval, but it's at a (circumference + x) distance, which creates the pattern. It's subtle, but distinct.
