I did a comparison a while ago on my Flickr set of the 1 vs. 2 watt PB lights. Yes, twice as powerful, but barely brighter. Can't access my photo account from work. If interested, will post the link tonight. Gave the 2 watt to a friend who needed it for commuting. The 1 watt seems decent enough for a lot of uses.
Be that as it may, am running a MiNewt USB on my bike without a generator. That's a good powerful light.
