Da Bomb. Very similar to my 1981 Santana tandem... er ... the 1981 Santana tandem ... the only frame design made by Santana at the time. Of course for those of you who remember, the single lateral tube ran from the head tube to the rear seat tube and then split and connected to the seat stays, several inches above the dropout. The twin laterals actually started in front of the rear seat tube and was joined to the rear seat tube. The triangulation made the Santana one stiff rear end with NO flex ... and added a bit o' weight. I loved my 47 pound beast and miss her greatly. Ah, the foolish things we do when we sell our bicycles to pay for stupid investments... like a college education!
