Hi Ray,

I'm hoping you'll be around here between Christmas and New Year's to do the
ride from San Francisco to Palo Alto with you! I haven't forgotten it, it's
still one of my goals.

The Guadalupe River Trail starts/ends in Downtown San Jose and is paved
until it reaches the San Jose Airport. From then it turns into gravel and
goes all the way to Alviso where it does a big loop bordering the Bay by the
Alviso Slough. You can look it up in Google Maps on the bicycle trail.

Yesterday I went to Shoreline with my son and checked out the new trail that
was just recently opened (the gates used to be locked) that allows you to
border the bay and connect the Mtn. View Bay Trail side with the Sunnyvale
Bay Trail side. I'm not seeing that now on GMaps, but it's a lovely ride. I
took the AHH and it rode beautifully. Me, my left shoulder/neck always
tightens and hurts, I just don't know why... :-)

The trail is flat but it's a great way to ride between San Jose and
Shoreline.
