After selling my second Romulus a year and half ago I didn't own a Rivendell for a while. The sale was mostly to create space and fund my Ebisu and Kogswell. it was also a transition to a different wheel size that I now prefer. I recently had an opportunity to trade my cSogn for a Bleriot and I took it. This is a 59cm and I built it with fairly riv- standard components: shimano XTR rear mech, silver shifters, synergy wheels, 8-speed mountain cassette, etc. I also use (black) on-one midge handlebar and VO threadless stem and stem adapter. The VO metal fenders work well with Riv fatty rumpkin tires, which after 4800 miles, are still going strong. Now I am waiting for a front rack to arrive to use a boxy front handlebar bag. This bike will be used for trail and mixed-terrain duties. The front handling is definitely lighter than my Ebisu and Kogswell, but it's similar to my Romulus and just needs getting used to. The stouter tubes (compared to Ebisu and Kogswell) are good for trails and rougher surfaces.
