Just to clarify: the BikeSnob post mentioned was actually about not having a cow over getting a ticket in the midst of a NYC crackdown on "scofflaw" cyclists: If you don't want a ticket, follow the rules until the crackdown's over. Especially if a stop sign has five cops by it, waiting to ticket cyclists... I think the Idaho Stop is what most people do. I do it. I try to ride safely, and with courtesy to my fellow road-users, but I reject the idea that I must be a "credit" to my cycling brethren (and sistern).
