I've only done old santa cruz highway, I know highway 9 can get pretty congested with cars, but I've never descended highway 9 on the back side to SC. the road are really nice, fresh tar and downhill bring a smile to my face! i'll send you my gpx file. i live in SJ and i've ridden out to captiola and back when training for an event. -Eduardo
