At $8, its not too pricey. Nevertheless, for about that much, or a few dollars more, why not take it into your LBS and have them remove it, especially if you're planning never using that fw again. Unless you want yet another bike specific tool in your toolbox, you may want to consider just taking it in and let the pros do it!
