Hi Mike, Here are some photos that will help you get a better idea of the clearances when Tara is mounted:

You can see that your 47 (or actual 41) will easily fit if I am understanding the question. In the 3rd picture you will see the silver spacers I added to make sure the connection at the dropout would clear the bulbous fork blade. There was no problem asking Tara to spread just a bit to accommodate that larger opening at the bottom and no damage at all to the rack by doing that. The rack has some give and spring to it. The last photo is prior to Tara being mounted with Tubus Cargo (meant for 700 tire but I wasn't going to buy a new one for 26" just because of that) on the rear. Additional questions happily answered. I like the Tara a lot.
