I used BMX pedals with pins before the Grip Kings came out, and that was one of the downsides. The more aggressive the gription the better it works when wet, but the more damage it can do in casual contact. Most of my scrapes were encountered handling the bike such as carrying up stairs or wheeling it thru a building, not while riding. I take it pretty easy off road. My climate favors shorts most of the time so casual contact is inevitable.
