Hmm... how 'scripted' is history? How tightly does it adhere to a schedule? That's in interesting question to make you think about how you think about things. I think it's likely that things might be entirely different, not just delayed.
And it seems to me, of all the variables in history, the one least likely to vary is the timing of the meteorite. Not the point, I know, but I kept thinking about it.
