I've been building a fair number of wheels on the White Industries hubs, and compared to some other high-end hubs, they seem to be a bargain in terms of price and quality. For my own bikes, I've gradually been thinning the herd of boutique parts, and now my hub of choice is the Shimano XT 770 series - lightweight, strong, reliable, and affordable.
