The first official work day of the year was a very foggy but not too cold one and I couldn't help myself from capturing the moment as the train pulled into the Palo Alto station. For some reason it all felt very dreamy, and I tried to capture that feeling in my photo. For some reason it reminds me of the Anna Karenina movie I saw as a teenager that had an image of the train pulling into the train station in the fog while they said good-bye... or something like that.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/orthie251/6629315631/ It shows my Hunqapillar still without the Berthoud fenders I'm in the process of installing so I can ride it when the rains hit us. 50mm Marathon Dureme tires, 150mm Bullmoose bars with fat Brooks leather grips, front Pass & Stow rack (the Swift Industries black canvas Pelican Porteur rack should be arriving any day now) and my beloved Berthoud saddle. I've also grown very fond of the Carradice Longflap Camper and have just added a new front SON28 Dyad 36 wheel (new SON28 model hub) with its Edelux light so now I can also commute on the Hunqapillar. Now I get to debate with myself in the evening if I'm going to commute on the Atlantis or on the Hunqapillar... the Betty has no lights yet, although I'm getting a helmet light (sold by RBW) which will make it feasible. When it gets fenders, then I'll be in a real conundrum... How to choose when you love them all? At least they don't appear to be jealous of each other! Happy 2012!!!
