In 2005, I built up a go-fast bike with a Reynolds 853 frame and carbon
fork. Two years later, multiple tweaks to get it comfy had a stem extender
to get the bars up and a B-17 saddle, and bigger cogs in back, and I
realized that it was just the wrong bike for me. I sold it and used the
money to buy my 1st Riv, a Rambouillet, which CAME with higher handlebars,
smoother steel fork, better geometry, longer chain stays and smart
gearing. I did NOT regret selling the racer.
