I was wondering if the roll-on service ever happened... I remember that being an issue, but boxing the tandem wasn't *too *bad. We used the Amtrak stations in PGH and WAS to box our bikes. The only extra tool I needed was a pedal wrench.
When that roll-on service ever starts, it'll only make the trail that much more amazing. We're going through the same type of Amtrk delays in the Midwest as far as service to Milwaukee and Western Michigan. Grassroots campaign are underway.
