I've run 32 mm Vittoria Rando Hypers on my Road Std. On 23 mm wide Velocity A23's they measure 34 mm wide, probably pretty close to a 35 mm Pasela. I didn't really expect them to fit but tried them anyway and was surprised that they do. The chainstay clearance is indeed tight. The rear wheeel has to be pulled way back to get every possible mm. Probably wouldn't with a broken spoke, though.
The frame looks great. Nice paint detailing on the crown and the seatstay caps. The contrasting lugs really show off how well they play with the head badge.
