I used a set of Silver DT shifters on a Road Std rebuild. I love how they
work. Downside is how easily they corrode. There is plenty of Summer sweat
falling on that region and the plating on the parts is not up to the task.
I took them apart and scrubbed thoroughly, re-lubed and put back on the
bike. Hope they continue to do well.

Your mod in the pics linked below looks great and would avoid any sweat
issues. Definitely a keeper.
