It will darken the honey leather, more than just riding will, and it will
not soften it disastrously, as oil will, but it has silicone in it, and I
don't know how pure the silicone used is.

Silicone comes in different grades, some industrial, with contaminants,
some medical grade, and very non-reactive in human bodies. Some are more
viscous than others, usually very hydrophobic, and none exist in nature.
That is a warning.

Somehow, a bicycle saddle is more intimate than a mountaineering boot over
a couple of pairs of ragg socks, and so I hesitate to recommend it for a
saddle. But this may be superstitious of me. I've slathered it onto many
boots with bare hands. I'd probably wear nitrile mechanics' gloves now.

See the video in the link:
http://www.periodicvideos.com/videos/feature_silicone_implants.htm

I have used it on many full-grain leather items, and it holds up well in
snow, but not so well in rain. It tends to soak into the surface only. I
have used a hair dryer to warm it up enough to soak in, but sun is best
(except when you need the sun, it often isn't there...)

There's no harm in waiting to get the stuff you have the most confidence
in. If you don't need to ride the saddle right away.
