You guys are all correct with your observations 1. Silvers don't slip in Barend configuration. Correct. This has two reasons. A. The receptacle (boss) into which the D-ring threads is way deeper, so it's impossible to bottom out. B. More cable and housing means more flex (stretch) can soak up the stresses without slipping. It's mostly A. 2. Dura Ace downtubes don't slip. Correct. They have the right length bolt. 3. Shimano barends don't slip. Also correct. 4. STIs don't slip. Correct. They can't slip.
