The Spenco gloves are actually pretty nice. I've had a pair for a couple of years now. Doesn't get as sweaty as the leather and crochet gloves from Rivendell. I rotate between both. The Spenco gel seems to last longer than the padding on the Riv gloves, also.
But there is something nice about getting a new pair of gloves from Rivendell and going out on a ride to see how long before they start to change color and show real beausage.
