Some folks are gonna give you crap for asking for a free bike part, but realistically, most of us have stuff lying around that will never be worth the trouble of trying to sell. In my case it's a low-end all-steel Shimano Altus triple off a '94 Bridgestone CB-1. It's not "beater"..perfect shape and clearly not ridden much, but nobody's gonna buy it from me. I may have the matching boat-anchor bottom bracket, too. I'm headed to Berkeley on Thursday to see my daughter for lunch so maybe we can hook up. Email me private and I'll send my number.
