20-some years ago, I got to go w/ Dad on a trip to the Oshkosh airshow, 
spent all week there (selling airplane brake discs, for a friend of my 
dad's).  One day, having worked most of the week, my dad's friend told us 
to take a day off... so, we jumped in the car and drove from Oshkosh to 
Sault Ste Marie and back. Spent the night in a place called Thompson, in a 
cabin on the shore of Michigan...  it was late July, and was below 40 that 
evening.   Remember a lot of forest, not a lot else... pretty country, but 
kinda lonely...
