You may try posting this question to the New England, Unpaved group<https://groups.google.com/d/forum/ne-unpaved>. I know some Vermonters post/read it. The New England Randonneurs group<http://groups.google.com/group/ne-randonneurs>is sure to have repeat BMB riders, too.
Some friends and I had a similar Boston–Montreal tour plan last summer, but we ended up looping around VT and the Adirondacks<http://www.flickr.com/photos/wwwdotjondoyledesigndotcom/sets/72157630959031580/>. I don't think we created a B–M route, but it would've drawn heavily from VT and MA brevet routes, and Delorme Gazetteers. Some people recently rode Boston–Montreal, ultra-marathon style<http://roseyscot.blogspot.com/2012/07/ridiculous.html> !
