I've been thinking about doing the Natchez Trace, and some friends of mine did part of it spring 2012. The logistics seem difficult, that's why they cut their ride short at Jackson, MS, where they could get a bus back to Nashville with a reasonable time frame.
I'd love to hear from any of you who have done it and/or from anyone who might have information about biking (self-supported) the Trace one way and getting back to the starting point?

We have a number of RUSA and organized charity century type events here in Alabama for those so inclined and there are a few RBWs scattered around as well. I'd love to ride with any visitors coming though.
My wife was asking me "where do you want to go and ride this year?" just the other day and to be honest I really don't know! Maybe another section of the MS River Trail? I did a 3 day piece solo on the Saluki in '09 and enjoyed it a lot.
