I should also have mentioned that all of my bikes are outfitted with the V-Brand Keven's saddlebag. I like them for several reasons, not the least of which is the very visible reflecto band that each has sewn onto the front (or, functionally, rear-facing). For most of pannier use I use the very excellent Swift Industries bags, each of which also has reflective sewn-on bands.
