btw, here's how I solved my front fender dilemma - had a lot of twist at 
the daruma, and the long cantilevered front vibrated like crazy.

On my M18 rack, I replaced the closest diving board panhead with a 25mm, 
#10 external tooth lock washer and M5 nut underneath, leather washer, flat 
washer and M5 nut on top of the fender, and split washer and M5 nut at the 
diving board.  
It's rock-solid and self-aligning now.
