The first good bicycle I picked up was from an old co-worker who complained his back prevented him from riding. I was just getting back into bicycling as I retired and had discovered Rivendell, etc.. I realized that was my type of riding. When he said he had this bicycle he wanted to get rid of, I asked him what kind it was thinking it would be a department store type. He told me it was a Bridgestone in almost new condition. It still has the original Richey slicks with nubs on them. I expected to put mustache or drop bars on it. It's an XO-5 with original arc bars which I can't get myself to replace. They are just so comfortable. I have since picked up a lugged Miyata Triple Cross which I put mustache bars on and and lugged Bianchi Advantage that I put drop bars on. I toy with changing the bars on the XO-5 and then I just ride and forget about it.
