Seems like some questions exist. Sold by Mountain Sports Ltd. of Bristol, VA, 113 miles from the poster. The saddle would suggest that it never even had a good day's ride yet, it's adjustment would imply that the seller isn't the original buyer. Same general city (Knoxville) as a Sam also listed as purchased in 2010 that is listed on the Rivendell Owners Worldwide Google map. That pin is west of the central city, this CL post is north-northeast and the posting's lack of descriptive ebullience tells me that the individual did not drive home from Bristol with that Sam, imagining all the fun places to ride it.
Providence questions swirl when a post like this emphasizes the retail value of a Rivendell without any deflection of concerns raised by the peculiarities such as odd fit, or lack of prosaic descriptions of it's wonderfulness (known owners stirred so much as to construct maps and descriptions of their models and locations and follow web groups on the subject), or just a simple "how I ended up with this bike" statement. I myself wouldn't get my ten foot pole out to ask the poster a question; it's not my size, regardless of the seat post extension.
