Loved that article. Actually, it was reading similar online articles that 
pushed me to build the fixed wheel in the first place. I already had a love 
of singlespeed, but the call to try fixed became strong. I have to say that 
the ride home was measurably better than the ride to work yesterday, but I 
am still not sold yet. I made sure to shave my speed with the brakes on the 
downhills this time. No problem with the uphills. As many have said, 
uphills are easy ( and fun) on fixed. I think I may have to put the fixed 
away until the weekend, when I can give it some time in a "no traffic" 
situation to get in more practice. I find I am horrible at stop lights.
